Mercy Ministry

[ V i s i o n ]

Our sole vision as Christians is to see God glorified in the hearts and minds of all people across this campus, city, nation, and world. As such, KCCE Mercy Ministry seeks to mobilize every Christian to actively reach out and be the Salt & Light of the Earth. Our ministry provides support through prayer, logistics, encouragement, and organization of events and activities through which every brother and sister can easily have an opportunity to start reaching out as a body, with compassion and love.

The following is a list of service opportunities that you can participate in! There is a short description of each. Let us know if you're interested!

Beechtree Nursing Home: Min Moon (mjm278@cornell.edu)

The Beechtree Nursing Home is medical rehabilitation facility where many of the residents have some disabilities, such as Alzheimer's, that require their stay at the home; some are coherent and active people, while others cannot communicate clearly or get around easily. However, all are in need of human contact, love and encouragement; even a short visit can make their day. We go once a week as a group and spend some time with these elder brothers and sisters.

Meet on Saturday 4:30PM @ Anabel Taylor Parking Lot

Loaves & Fishes: Sunna Jo (sj258@cornell.edu)

Our ministry makes a weekly trip to Loaves & Fishes, a local soup kitchen located in a church in downtown Ithaca. The visitors need not only physical nourishment but spiritual food as well. We have dinner with the visitors while trying to build relationships with them and praying for them in the hopes of eventually being able to share the gospel with them. We also offer our services, including cleaning up the eating area, if necessary.

We meet on Thursdays at 5:45 PM in the Sheldon Court parking lot and return to campus at around 7:15 PM.
